The Praise Factory is a six year, multi-age children’s systematic theology curriculum for elementary school children. It is comprised of 104 key biblical truths -- called "Big Ideas"-- divided into 16 units, common to a systematic theology. These biblical truths expand the children’s understanding of the same 12 big questions and answers used in the two preschool curriculums and add four additional big questions and answers. Within each 3-week Big Idea, there is an Old Testament, New Testament and Church History/Missions story presented. Each week’s curriculum includes 8 different activities to reinforce the Big Idea concept and story. |

Crafts Group Objectives The goal of the Big Idea Crafts application activities is to encourage the children to think more about the Big Idea, how it applies to the story, and how it applies to us as they make an important object from the session's story. Craft Group Snack-time Discussion Time Emphasis The Big Idea Craft Group snack and discussion time is spent in a general discussion of the story and Big Idea. Feel free to use the Big Idea and Story Review Discussion Sheets for discussion ideas. If you do, you can take their prayer requests as they work on their crafts. Thinking about the Craft and the Big Idea For each Big Idea story, we have created a Big Idea Craft Connections Sheet that leads the children through a discussion about what the object they are making and how it was important to the story, the Big Ideas, and life application. After holding up a finished sample of the Big Idea Object, the teacher leads the children in answering each of the four questions on that sheet--using the suggested answers as guidelines-- and fills in the children's answers on each of the four corresponding Presenter Sheets. The children will use these sheets when they present their craft during Closing Large Group Time. Busy hands often make reflective thinkers. Use the time they are making their crafts to ask them more about the Big Idea, the story, and how the object they are making relates to them. Or, go ahead and begin to ask them for their ACTS prayer requests. |
